This high quality natural abalone shell can be used to catch the ash and embers from your smudge stick. You can use the shell to rest your smudge stick on the shell before, during and after your cleansing ritual most commonly with white sage and palo santo sticks.

Not only are the shells a practical solution to smudging rituals but they are naturally beautiful, with shimmers of gorgeous iridescent mother of pearl colours that catch the light ranging from greens and blue to rose pink, purple and gold.

Our shells are ethically harvested and safely cleaned.

HOW TO USE THE ABALONE SHELL WHEN SMUDGING

You may wish to use a layer of sand inside the abalone shell to protect its natural shine from any smoke or ashes.

1. Using a match, light your sage or Palo Santo stick.
2. Rest the sticks in the abalone shell, using it to collect any ashes or embers as the sticks burn.
3. You may wish to walk around your space with the sticks allowing the smoke to waft into the corners and ceilings.
4. Abalone shells have holes in them, so ensure any hot embers don’t fall through onto flammable materials such as carpet or bed linens.
5. If the smudging sticks have been resting in the abalone shell for awhile, the shell may get hot, so use caution when handling it.
